Questions and Issues to Assess Venture Capital Funds
Ed Goodman, Milestone Venture Partners, Chairs Panel
at Strategic Research Institute
New York City, June 24, 2003 – Edwin A. Goodman, Co-Founder and
General Partner of Milestone Venture Partners, a prominent, early-stage
venture capital firm, will chair a panel of experts on “Illuminating
Questions to Ask and Issues to Raise When Assessing VCs” at the
Strategic Research Institute’s Private Equity Roundup.
This discussion will be held Monday, July 14, 3-4PM at New York’s
Plaza Hotel. The SRI 2003 Private Equity Roundup is July 13 to 15 (www.srinstitute.com/CX429).
Ed Goodman said, “Too many prospective investors ask general partners
of funds academic or conventional questions instead of provoking indicators
of future performance. This panel will reveal how to penetrate during
due diligence.”
Some of the recommended questions are: What is the one message you want
to drill into your limiteds? What is the crucial behavioral challenge
for your firm now, and how are you addressing it? If you could repeat
your last year’s business life, what would you do differently?
The panel members are Ed Burton, University of Virginia; Anthony Hoberman,
Alliance Capital Management; Tim Kelly, GE CFS Capital Markets Group;
and David Martus, Colorado Public Employees Retirement Association.
